Terms of Service

Otta Charts provides a Chrome extension and web application that use artificial intelligence to analyze stock chart screenshots. The service produces structured technical analysis for educational purposes only. It is not a brokerage, investment advisor, or financial services firm.

By creating an account or using the extension, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must provide an accurate email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account with others or use the service to provide access to third parties.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or attempt to circumvent usage limits.

Pro plan subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Prices are listed at our pricing page.

Pro includes up to 100 hosted server scans per calendar month. This limit resets on the first day of each month. Scans using your own API key (BYOK) do not count toward this limit. Unused hosted scans do not roll over.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

You agree not to:

• Automate requests to the service in ways that circumvent rate limits or quotas
• Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the service to third parties
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
• Use the service to generate content that constitutes personalized investment advice for compensation
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data

Otta Charts is an educational analytical tool. All output — including AI-generated chart analysis, pattern descriptions, and trend assessments — is for informational and educational purposes only.

Nothing produced by Otta Charts constitutes investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, asset, or financial instrument. Past chart patterns are not predictive of future results. Always conduct your own research and consult a qualified financial professional before making investment decisions.

Otta Charts uses third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter) to process chart images. When you use hosted server scans, your chart image is transmitted to our server and forwarded to the AI provider. Images are not stored after the request completes.

When you use BYOK scan or chart chat, your chart image is sent directly from the extension to the provider you configured. Otta Charts does not process or see that image.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or output of third-party AI providers.

Otta Charts and its content, design, and software are owned by Otta Charts and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (chart images, custom rulesets). By using hosted features, you grant Otta Charts a limited license to process that content solely to provide the service.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI analysis will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Otta Charts shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service or any trading or investment decisions made based on service output.

Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Either party may terminate at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Sections covering disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Otta Charts operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
